"New Rail Link Will Take J&K to Heights Missed in 75 Years": Surinder Choudhary

Srinagar June 11 (KNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary called the arrival of the train in Srinagar a historic and emotional moment, saying it fulfilled a dream that earlier generations could not achieve.

“In the history of Jammu and Kashmir, this is something even our ancestors could not give us. We are fortunate that their wishes have now been fulfilled,” he said, speaking at the inaugural event.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Choudhary expressed hope that the train would connect more areas of the Union Territory, bringing development, tourism, and employment opportunities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He noted that the rail link offers a safe and affordable mode of transport. “Earlier, roads were often blocked, and air travel was too expensive. This train will become a lifeline for the common people,” he said.

Choudhary added, “The biggest thing is that even the poor in India who dreamed of seeing Kashmir can now come here and witness the brotherhood and hospitality we are known for.”

He concluded by saying that with this train, the region moves closer not just to progress but also to the return of statehood. (KNS)
